This 12th grade professional development on the CCSS was created and led by Mr. Graves earlier this year, on February 3, 2015 at Verdugo Hills High School. On the day of this professional development, the teaching staff was given the opportunity to choose the grade level PD that most fit their teaching schedule.  The purpose of the PD was to discuss the CCSS.  It also allowed for an introduction to one of the many ways that MOODLE can be used in an academic environment.

This Teacher Workshop was authored and led by Mr. Graves on May 27, 2012 when he was working as a science teacher at Hellen Bernstein High School in Hollywood, California.

Dear Teachers and School Administrators:

This workshop is intended to show how moodle may be useful in helping students to learn a subject. It starts with a very revealing short video that makes teachers think. In this workshop, you are not being asked to agree with the use of moodle in schools but only to see how others have turned moodle into a story of success. This moodle workshop is arranged as an easy-to-understand self-guided tour. Students who are disorganized and behind in their work may benefit most from moodle if it is well organized and self-quiding.

This is an open source creative commons course for those interested in learning more of the advanced features of MOODLE.  Mr. Graves makes it available to anyone who is interested.

This course gives you a brief description  of the steps you need to do to begin creating your first moodle course. Print the first page of this course and then open your course shell to get started.

This OpenSource Creative Commons MOODLE course was downloaded by Mr. Graves and used with teachers to show them how the MOODLE "Lesson" module is an effective learning tool.  The "Lesson" module is based on the concepts of "Programmed Learning", a pedagogy first introduced by B. F. Skinner, the most renowned behavioral psychology.

This course was created for a workshop at the Mountain Moot 2013 where participants learned how to create Moodle Lessons. There are three lessons available to try as students and a fourth which was built together as an introduction to lesson construction. I have also included the slideshow presentation used during the course of the workshop.
